Product Details
MC006 Reusable Prototyping Polymorph Plastic low melting temperature of about 60°C
Overview
Features
- Polymorph (Polycaprolactone) is non-toxic, biodegradable polyester with a low melting temperature of about 60°C (140°F)
- Prototype plastic parts can be made by simply heating in hot water until it is clear and then shaping by hand
- When cool it becomes nylon like white plastic
- Polymorph can be re-used by simply re-heating and re-shaping
- Plastic beads supplied in a re-usable plastic container
- Although expensive, polymorph is suitable for 3D modelling as it can be shaped by hand or pressed into a shape through the use of a mould
- Rapid prototyping
- Fabrication of mechanical parts Armatures/frames for models
- Specialised components - e.g. motor mountings
- Joining components together
- Mouldings for handles & orthopaedic aids
- Vacuum forming moulds
- Can be pressed into sheets and rolled into rods
- Small-scale modelling
- Repair of plastic objects
